And here come the the new-look Vultures
Former Mahwelereng Real Rovers central defender Andrew Radebe has joined SAB Regional League side in Limpopo FC Manong.
"We are excited that Druza (Radebe) has agreed to be in charge of our technical staff," said Amin Makhafola, the club's new owner, yesterday.
"We have started well in the league and Nedbank Cup preliminaries. The plan is to win the league and see ourselves in the Vodacom League next season.
"The future looks bright for FC Manong. We are very ambitious and our vision is to have the club in the Premiership by 2012.
"Charity begins at home. We have decided to start the process of strengthening the team by recruiting the youngsters in Mahwelereng and surrounding villages.
"There is talent in abundance in Mokopane and we will be working closely with the schools this year to recommend impressive boys."
Makhafola, a rising businessman in Mokopane who also served as deputy chairman of Rovers, bought the status of the club last month.
Manong were owned by former Premier Soccer League general manager Andrew "Cosmos" Dipela .
"Some of us were thinking of coming with a new name, including Real Rovers and Motherwell, but we stuck to FC Manong to avoid getting involved in politics.
"It is common knowledge in South Africa that certain people come up with all sorts of ownership claims, producing papers that they have registered the names of particular clubs.
"We have decided to retain the name FC Manong because we believe it's a brand with the potential to grow and make it big," said Makhafola.
The GaMadiba-based FC Manong have defeated Jomo Cosmos 2-0 and played to a goalless draw with Farouk Khan's Academy.
