A round of applause to our Paralympians for making us very proud at the Beijing Olympics. The last time I checked, Team SA was on spot six with 19 gold medals.

I was disappointed by our Olympics team that brought us nothing but embarrassment from Beijing.

It is very sad to see young, physically challenged South Africans not given the opportunity to take part in art activities.

The Paralympics team has proved that being physically challenged is not the end of the world. I was touched by their efforts, hard work and dedication in Beijing. This should encourage society to treat all human beings equally. We must stop feeling sorry for our brothers and sisters and give them the opportunity to participate in any activity that they choose.

Most government departments encourage physically challenged people to take part in their programmes, but not enough people do so.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Paralympians for the effort they have put into what they do best.

Well done guys. When you return home, could you please tour the country and hold motivational seminars to encourage young South Africans to take sports seriously, instead of wasting their lives on drugs.
