Meet Sam Masondo, a 47-year-old street vendor with nerves of steel.
On Tuesday, he sent three Johannesburg metro police department officers packing after they threatened to arrest him for selling flavoured ice and roses at a busy intersection on the corner of Empire and Joubert streets.
A JMPD car pulled up and the officers told him to vanish.
But the slightly built Masondo, armed with an iron rod, vowed to "lash the hell out of them" if they dared touch him.
"I am not going anywhere. You can't harass me for fending for my children," he said. He has eight children.
The cops fled to their car.
