SABC2 Zwamaramani anchor Mpho Tsedu's removal from the only Tshivenda current affairs show has sparked outrage among a Venda clan under King Tony Mphephu Ramabulana.

Tsedu, pictured, was pulled off the air by the SABC editorial management on Tuesday.

This after he was removed from African Perspective a month ago after he refused to edit out what his bosses saw as inflammatory allegations against Ghanaian presidential candidate Nana Akkuffo-Addo, whom he had interviewed.

Tsedu was allegedly stopped from going on the air by his boss a few hours before he could present the show because the public broadcaster was investigating allegations that he allegedly leaked sensitive information to the media about the SABC.

Ramabulana was allegedly "disgusted" by Tsedu's sacking.

"I might discourage my subjects from paying their TV licences," he said. - Alex Matlala
