Filmmaker, TV personality and editor Kgomotso Matsunyane has landed her own talk show on SABC2.

The former editor of O Magazine relinquished the glamorous position at Oprah Winfrey's magazine a year ago to concentrate on filmmaking as one of the directors of the film production company TOM Pictures.

She will now host LateNight With Kgomotso from October 18.

"I'm currently shooting the scenes and I'm quite ecstatic about this show," Matsunyane, pictured, says. "It will be on the same lines as the previous TV show I hosted some years ago called Pillow Talk with Kgomotso.

"This one is basically entertainment that will feature entertainers such as TV personalities and musicians. There will be a resident band and without revealing too much I can confirm that part of the band will be made up of musicians such as Paul Hanmer and McCoy Mrubata."

Matsunyane is quite confident that the show will cut it.

"This show will be defined by the type of person I am," she says. "I have an extremely strong personality that will definitely come out during the show.

"I'm the sort of person whom you either hate or like. I'm also quite a dynamic person and there is no way you can meet me and not be blown away.

"I have come to realise that in this country humility is overrated and people kind of try to restrain themselves in case they get judged.

"My advice is just do what you want to do - that's all."
