Well done, Tsvangirai

Hats off to Morgan Tsvangirai. He fought hard and bravely to get President Robert Mugabe to come to terms with the fact that he is no longer wanted by Zimbabweans.

Hats off to Morgan Tsvangirai. He fought hard and bravely to get President Robert Mugabe to come to terms with the fact that he is no longer wanted by Zimbabweans.

After what Tsvangirai, pictured, went through, I do not think Mugabe should have featured. After all, he has not won an election since 2000. What Tsvangirai must work towards now is constitutional reforms, especially in view of the Zimbabwean media and freedom of expression.

Mugabe and his cronies are not to be trusted. Remember what they did to Dumiso Dabengwa and Lookout Masuku in the dark years after independence? These two, including Joshua Nkomo, faced trumped-up treason charges. Masuku and Dabengwa were locked up for four years, and Masuku eventually died mysteriously.

Mugabe's motives are always sinister and by now everyone must be wary. This must be the first step to total democracy and independence. We cannot overlook all the crimes that Mugabe committed.

Tsvangirai, we salute you.
