UDM leader Bantu Holomisa has come out to question any move to remove President Thabo Mbeki.
He says such a move would create a political crisis.
Holomisa has written to the national assembly speaker asking how "a sitting president can be removed without creating a political crisis".
He pointed out that for Mbeki to be removed Parliament would have to pass a vote of no confidence in the president.
He said his party would not support a decision to oust a sitting president and his executive on the basis of inferences by a judge and without that president receiving a chance to answer the accusations. - Eric Naki
