Two weeks after being stretchered out of Super Stadium, SuperSport United striker Anthony Laffor could be making his comeback in a league match against Platinum Stars on Wednesday.

Laffor returned to training last week having recovered from a tackle by Mamelodi Sundowns' defender Shere Lekgothoane in the second leg of the MTN8 cup semifinals.

Ironically, the two were teammates for years at Jomo Cosmos, and Laffor has shrugged the incident off as just one of those accidents that happen on the field of play.

"I am fit and ready to play if the coach decides to choose me. Staying away from soccer is not easy and I was relieved when nothing major was broken, because it could have been a lot worse," said Laffor.

The Liberian joined the league champions this season, and has to compete for Gavin Hunt's attention with the likes of Katlego Mashego, Glen Salmon and Tefera Fikru, which will not be easy.

Hunt is relieved Laffor has recovered.

"It's just a matter of me trying to get him to gel with the rest of the team. But we still have a long way to go in the season," Hunt said.
