Park Village Auctions is gearing up to present the next in its highly successful series of truck auctions, arising from genuine bank repossessions and liquidations.

The sale, comprising a mix of trucks, tractors, trailers, freight carriers, ldv's earthmoving equipment etc, takes place at the Park Village Auctions' Truck Yard, Nasrec Showgrounds, Gate 16, Landbou Street, Johannesburg South next Thursday September 18, commencing at 10.30 am. Viewing is possible on the preceding day, Wednesday 17 September from 10am to 4pm.

PVA's LeRoy Augustyn says that, judging by the success of the company's previous auction of heavy transport and capital equipment, demand will be strong and bidders will have real opportunities to acquire stock at attractive prices.

"Our previous auction of about 150 lots surprised us in that it was a virtual sell-out, suggesting yet again that fundamentally, some sectors of the transport sector are still in good shape, although buyers are looking for the best possible deals.

"Bidders were drawn from a wide spectrum of the market and included small businessmen, fleet operators and hauliers, corporates extending their own fleets and, notably, BEE operators.

"A similar buyer mix is anticipated at the upcoming sale which again includes genuine bank repossessions and liquidations, making up an excellent inventory of trucks, tractors, trailers, freight carriers, ldv's and earth moving equipment and if patterns are repeated there will be a mix of financed deals and cash buyers."

An idea of current auction prices can be gained from the previous auction when a Nissan UD440 truck tractor realised a price of R650 000, passenger buses were sold for between R540 000 -R580 000, Toyota bakkies realised between

R85 000 - R95 000 and side tipper trailers were sold for between R220 000 -R260 000 per unit (all prices excluded VAT).

The inventory for next week's includes FAW, various Mercedes Benz units,

MAN, International, Scania, Isuzu, Toyota Dyna, Volvo, Gazelle and TATA. Also a Kearneys front superlink, Hendred Fruehauf tri axle and tri axle sliding bin trailers, Unitrailer flat deck , HF Bottom disc tankers etc.
