Though outlawed, racism doggedly continues to characterise our society.

Though outlawed, racism doggedly continues to characterise our society.

With its manifestations as varied as they are subtle, the scourge remains difficult to eradicate so that our nation can make a clean break with the past.

Just as malicious is overt racism, which tends to take on an aggressive form, especially when the perpetrators intend to humiliate their victim.

This appears to have been the case on Sunday when a motorist, Mathews Moremong, was attacked by three white men who accused him of reckless driving.

The fight against racism is the responsibility not only of the government but also of everyone who embraces the ideal of a rainbow nation.
