Isaac "The Angel" Hlatswayo will fight German Jan Zaveck in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) welterweight title eliminator, trainer Nick Durandt announced yesterday.

"The deal was finalised last Thursday," he said, adding that his charge and Zaveck will fight at Emperors Palace on November 17.

"I am happy it's happening here. I am tired of going abroad where my fighters have constantly been getting a raw deal. I am also excited that Isaac finally gets the opportunity to fight at home for the first time under me."

Hlatswayo teamed up with Durandt last July. He had been trained by Emmanuel Fernandez.

Durandt has already guided Hlatswayo to two wins in Australia when he defended the International Boxing Organisation welterweight belt.

The winner between Hlatswayo, 31, and Zaveck, 32, will challenge the winner of the IBF and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) unification bout between Joshua Clottey (IBF) and Antonio Margarito (WBO) at Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas on November 1.

Durandt will be at the ringside. His other boxer Moruti "Babyface" Mthalane will challenge IBF flyweight champion Nonito "Filipino Flash" Donaire in the main supporting fight.

Hlatswayo confirmed signing the contract last week. He is happy to fight at home where he still has to lose a fight. His only defeat against 28 wins (10 KOs) was in the US against Kendall Holt.

Zaveck is undefeated after 25 wins (14 KOs). He has held the WBO Intercontinental, European Union, IBF Intercontinental and the German International welterweight belts.
