Platinum for our Olympians

September 31, yes, that's the date Moss Mashishi's South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has set aside for their "Sorry Mzansi Games" at a venue still to be determined by gatvol Butana Komphela.

Komphela, sports and recreation portfolio committee chairman, shook hands with Mashishi, suggesting that they have reconciled after the former criticised the white dominance of Team SA.

What turned out at the Beijing Olympics is that South Africans went on some "go-slow", thus their lack of appetite for medals.

But Usuzwile Mkhozi has been reliably told that South Africans were discouraged by the fact that medals were only made of bronze, silver and gold, with none in the expensive mineral that is platinum.

The Royal Bafokeng has, therefore, volunteered to donate platinum-made medals, so the Mgosi crew has been told.

Komphela will be the only one handing out the medals while the minister of sports and recreation will be the chief chef at the function.

The main gate at the VIP parking will be manned by Mashishi.

Be there if you want to see the best of Mzansi in this Beijing Olympics replay.
