Nigeria coach Shaibu Amodu wants to make winning a habit for the Super Eagles in the build-up to the 2010 World Cup finals.

The former Orlando Pirates coach has won all five qualifying matches without conceding a goal in 450 minutes of action.

Amodu was speaking after they defeated Bafana Bafana 1-0 in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. "What is important in football is to score and win. We came to Port Elizabeth to win and are going back home with the three points.

"It is equally important for us to keep a clean slate. South Africa, yes, they did put us under pressure. We were aware that they wanted to break the jinx, but we were resolute. We (the technical staff) are happy that we are well on track for 2010," said Amodu.

Bafana Bafana are still to beat Nigeria in an official fixture since the country's return to the international arena in 1992.
