Controversial TV personality Aaron Moloisi has landed himself a glamorous role as the presenter of SABC1 show Shift.
In recent years Moloisi hit the headlines because he was said to be a closet gay by a former friend.
He vehemently denied the claims.
He, however, created more controversy when he acted in an equally controversial TV drama series, After Nine, which showed gay people kissing openly on TV screens two years ago.
Some irate viewers called for the series to be canned, without success. The series was plunged deeper into controversy when the SABC was accused of showing it because of the liberal on-screen kissing.
Moloisi forms part of an increasing crop of educated TV presenters. He is a trained scientist.
Lerao Mbele, a former SABC3 prime time newsreader, has a masters degree in international relations and Mbele's replacement, Siki Mgabadeli, holds a journalism degree
Yesterday a happy Moloisi told Sowetan that he was looking forward to his new role.
"I am looking forward to being introduced as the new presenter at a time when the show turns three years old," said Moloisi.
The presenter will make his debut on Shift between 1pm and 2pm on SABC1.
