An exemplary and unique policeman, he never allowed dockets to disappear. As such, he was hated by criminals.
Born in Hamashamba in Venda on February 1963, Ramaloko went to Lotshas Primary and then to Raluombe High, where he matriculated.
He trained as a teacher and his first job was at the Ntabalala Primary School in Venda.
In 1985 Ramaloko left teaching, trekked to Benoni and joined the municipal police. The next year he enrolled at the Police College in Pretoria.
He joined the Daveyton police and his commitment saw him promoted to the Etwatwa precinct.
He joined the criminal investigation division as a detective in Actonville under Superintendent Swart, who said at Ramaloko's memorial service: "He was a man of integrity and he will be difficult to replace. He was true to his word and he solved cases with vigour and passion."
Ramaloko is survived by his wife, six children, mother, brother and five sisters. He will be buried in Hamashamba tomorrow. The service starts at 6:30am.
