Limpopo, also known as the "Garden of Eden", has pulled out all the stops in to celebrate Heritage Month.

The province will host Heritage Month events at the Lesley Manyathela Stadium in Musina from September 23 to 25.

The celebrations will start with an Ubuntu Imbizo on September 23 and culminate with exhibitions the next day.

This will be followed by an Ubuntu Award ceremony organised by the department of arts and culture on the same evening.

The Ubuntu Awards will honour six newly recognised kings in acknowledgement of their role in the preservation of the province's heritage.

The kings are Makhado, Mokopane, Makgoba, Sekhukhune, Nghunghunyane and Malebogo.

Though the Heritage Day celebration only takes place on September 24, the department of sport, arts and culture has already started partying.

Speaking on behalf of the department, Adel van der Linde said the province celebrated its heritage every day.
