Zack "The Black Warrior" Mwekassa will be crowned the new World Boxing Foundation (WBF) cruiserweight champion tomorrow night, mentor Warren Hulley has promised, even though they have not seen his opponent, Jozsef Nagy, in action.

Hulley will be assisted in the corner by his brothers Brendan and Tony when Mwekassa, who is from the Democratic Republic of Congo, faces the Hungarian for the vacant WBF belt.

Nothing much is known about the 33-year-old Nagy except that he has an impressive fight record of 18 wins, 12 by knockout, and two losses.

The only credible opponent that the "Hangman" has fought is Denis Inkin, the World Boxing Council interim and World Boxing Organi- sation super middleweight champion.

Tomorrow's fight will be presented by World Sports Promotions at Graceland Casino in Secunda, Mpumalanga. It will be promoter Thinus Strydom's last tournament after his company was sold to a black empowerment group.

"I am hoping to have the second world champion in my stable," said Hulley whose Jab Connection in Robertsham, south of Johannesburg, produced its first WBF champion in March last year.

Mlungisi "The Shark" Dlamini cut down Argentinian Ivan Orlando Bustos in five rounds to win the vacant lightweight strap.

Mwekassa is the WBF Intercontinental belt holder. This stocky fighter, who has crippling power in both hands, boasts seven stoppages from eight fights.

His fight with Mark Strydom ended dramatically before it started after Strydom, who deliberately head-butted Mwekassa, was disqualified.

Hulley said former SA heavyweight champion Anton Nel gave Mwekassa quality sparring.

"He is in good shape and focused," said Hulley.

The fight will be broadcast live on Blow by Blow from 9.30pm.

Hulley's other charge, Tendao Munyai, will be in action in one of the six undercard fights. Action is scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm.
