The Limpopo Tourism and Parks Board concluded Women's Month by launching Tourism Month and Arbor Day.
Tourism Month was launched under the theme "Tourism responding to challenges of climate change" at Hayani Guest House outside Polokwane on Friday.
At the launch, LTP chief operations officer Seipati Tlaka said: "This year's Tourism Month theme stresses the important relation between tourism and climate change.
"It is important that we take the message of the threat of climate change to ordinary people in Limpopo.
"As custodians of nature, all of us need to be aware that if climate change continues unabated, the damage to our national parks could be devastating," he said.
"If we do not take care of our environment we will end up as malaria areas."
Tlaka said tourism contributed about 5percent to climate change.
At the weekend, LTP treated women to an expedition around the province.
On Monday, the department celebrated Spring Day by offering roses to motorists at major intersections in Polokwane, thanking them for visiting the province.
They then headed to Kgobokwane in Moutse where the provincial Arbor Day was launched and wild plum trees were planted.
LTP chief executive Benny Boshielo emphasised the importance of caring for the environment to stop climate change.
"We need to plant more trees for future generations," he said.
"We have to save trees in order to save the planet."
