Few will disagree that hooliganism in sport is much like a fly in the ointment and just won't go away.

Few will disagree that hooliganism in sport is much like a fly in the ointment and just won't go away.

In a fledgling democracy such as ours sport plays a key role in efforts to promote nation building and foster unity and national identity.

But this vision seems to escape a band of white bigots who pick on blacks at rugby games to make them feel unwelcome.

They use rugby as a platform to express their resentment of the new order and their hankering after the honey days of apartheid.
