As the Kwazulu-Natal provincial government wrapped up its Women's Month programme at the weekend, Premier Sbu Ndebele made an impassioned plea for "women and mothers" to reconstruct our families.

Speaking at a function in Eshowe honouring the legacy of King Shaka's mother, Queen Nandi, he urged women to be part of the KZN Family Tree Project.

He said they should play a leading role in the reconstruction of the nuclear of family in the recollection of family history and in ensuring that teaching and learning takes place at all times during school hours.
