Moroka Swallows defender James Mayinga is looking forward to an exciting game when his side hosts the newly promoted Bay United in an Absa Premiership match at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg tomorrow.

The youngster, who was voted man of the match in the MTN 8 semifinal second leg against Kaizer Chiefs last weekend, said they were expecting a tough game against the Premiership rookies.

"The league is undoubtedly going to be exciting, after a lot of money was pumped into the league. Teams have reinforced and we have to be on our toes against our opponents."

The Eastern Cape side's head of communications, Vuyo Mvoko said they were sad to be playing their opening game away from home.

"But we have a young team that is determined to do well in the elite league. We're a closed book and underdogs at the same time.

"We're ready to go out there and do our best, because our priority is to retain our elite league status and in two seasons' time end up in the top eight," he said.

Players such as Sandile Ndlovu, Phumelela Bhengu, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Lefa Tsutsulupa and Goodman Mazibuko should see the Birds collecting the full points.

But Mvoko retorted that they have equally good players. The acquisition of Cyril Nzama, Patrick Mayo and Abednigo Netshiozwi has added value to the team.

lAmaZulu are at home to Platinum Stars at Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.

Usuthu, have acquired the services of Sean Dundee and a number of other quality players.

Usuthu spokesman Philani Mabaso said they were determined to end up in the top eight.

"We're also looking at winning one of the trophies on offer."
