Three men who were arrested in connection with the murder of a 29-year-old woman in Magagula Heights, Ekurhuleni, have been freed.

The Heidelberg regional court found that there was insufficient evidence linking them to the murder of Bongi Dlamini.

The three men were arrested on Sunday night after a member of the community told the police that they were the last people to be seen with Dlamini.

They appeared in court yesterday and the charges were provisionally withdrawn.

Dlamini was found dead in an open veld last week Monday.

She had been missing for three days when firewood collectors stumbled on her decomposing corpse.

Last December a half-naked corpse of a woman was found a few kilometres from where Dlamini's body was discovered.

The woman had been raped and strangled to death.

Earlier last week, police could not rule out the possibility that Dlamini had also been raped because she was found half- naked and her clothes were bloodied.
