Afro-pop star Ringo Madlingozi, pictured, has vowed to dazzle music lovers at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz.

The festival runs from August 28 to 30 in Newtown, Johannesburg. Local and international stars intend to mesmerise music lovers for three days.

Madlingozi, who last dropped an album in 2006, Ndim Lo, has promised a fire-spitting performance on August 30 at the Mbira Stage on Mary Fitzgerald Square.

His performance starts at 9.45pm.

Madlingozi's new album will be released next month.

"I promise fans I will be dishing out more love and unity songs. I promise they won't be disappointed," Madlingozi says.

He says his fans can look forward to another timeless album in mid-September.

The king of isiXhosa ballads, who was born in Gugulethu in Cape Town, has been a songwriter, producer and arranger of brilliant music for two decades.

He sings about healing, love, kindness and forgiveness

Madlingozi is in great demand as a creative collaborator and he has worked with renowned local and international stars such as UB40, McCoy Mrubata, Prince Lengoasa, Judith Sephuma, Busi Mhlongo, Oliver Mtukudzi and many others.
