SuperSport United have talked a great game ahead of their second MTN 8 semifinal against Mamelodi Sundowns tomorrow night at Super Stadium.
But it is Gavin Hunt's men, not Sundowns who have it all to do tomorrow night, as the titans collide in a match that will determine which Tshwane team gets to meet the winner of the Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows. Kickoff is at 8pm.
Downs dominated and won the first leg, but United have what it takes to upset their neighbours, provided they do what works for them.
While good players are a dime a dozen at United, they have to be better than just good to overcome a Downs team brimming with stars keen to show why Downs owner Patrice Motsepe spent all that money on them.
Matsatsantsa fans could see Shane Poggenpoel return in the middle of the park, though Hunt has opted for new recruit Mpho Kekana in that role in the past two matches.
Poggenpoel has made the destroyer position his, and PSL player of the season Elias Pelembe has punched holes in opposition defences, setting up strikers Tefera Fikru and Katlego Mashego. They also can convert free kicks or any dead ball chance, Daine Klate's domain.
Pelembe scored in Mozambique's 3-0 win over Swaziland this week, as did Downs' Dario Monterio, and will be hoping to punish Sundowns too.
"We really just have to go out and play our own game and put into practise what we worked on this past week, that's all," Hunt said.
Trott Moloto also has his own set of problems, the main one being the unavailability of strikers. With Sibusiso Zuma suspended, Katlego Mphela injured, newest signing Collins Mbesuma unfit and Lungisani Ndlela also out, the onus is on those on the fringes to take up the challenge.
"Our preparations have gone very well, and we are motivated by our lead. United won't sit back and will attack us from the word go. Even if some of our players are out, there is a lot of competition for places in this team," Moloto said.
Surprise Moriri, Benedict Vilakazi, Koketso Mmotong and Lerato Chabangu are all capable of finding the back of the net.
