The ANC Youth League in Mookgophong, formerly Naboomspruit, has called for the immediate dismissal of municipal manager Mokgadi Kgatla.

The ANCYL accuses Kgatla of failing the community in terms of service delivery.

It claims that she is incompetent and not suited to holding public office.

The league blames her for failing to provide water and electricity in some sections of Mookgophong and to erect toilets at Phomolong section.

ANCYL's Wisani Sithole said yesterday that they had had enough of Kgatla and that she must give way to acompetent person.

"Villages around Mookgophong are all filthy as a result of Kgatla's failure to execute her duties. She must go," Sithole said.

Kgatla has also been accused of awarding municipal contracts to friends and appointing consultants from Gauteng to do municipal work, overlooking competent companies with proven track records from the province.

Kgatla laughed off suggestions that she should leave.

"I'm not going to deviate from what I've been employed to do, Kgatla said.

"I know that the ANCYL has declared war against me - and I'm ready."
