Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday will bring a number of music giants to Johannesburg Stadium tomorrow.

This truly African concert boasts an exciting line-up that includes local and African stars.

After a successful festival at London's Hyde Park, Mandela's birthday celebrations will continue here in Mzansi.

Local veterans Dorothy Masuka, Jonas Gwangwa and Jimmy Dludlu are among the heavy-hitters featured.

Adding some African flavour to the concert is Senegalese star Baaba Maal, whose music is recognised internationally.

"This is going to be a case of African and South African legends in celebration of the ultimate icon, Nelson Mandela," says Minister of Arts and Culture, Pallo Jordaan.

It'll be a musical birthday for the "father of the nation" and will also have a special tribute by Jennifer Jones, Vicky Sampson, Judith Sephuma, Josie Fields and Thandiswa Mazwai.

The celebrations will also include poetry, traditional performances, a children's programme and performances by live deejays.

Traditional dance followers can look forward to various dance styles. Groups such as the Eastern Cape Ensemble, Tribhangi Dance Theatre and the Chung Wah Lion Dance Troupe have been added to the line-up.

Proceeds from the celebrations will go to the Nelson Mandela Foundation. Tickets are available at Computicket for R40.

The concert starts at 11am.
