The Inkatha Freedom Party has made a call for the ANC to be removed from power.

The Inkatha Freedom Party has made a call for the ANC to be removed from power.

This came after the Sea Cow Lake mini-substation, south of Durban, was vandalised last week.

The criminals left a note threatening similar acts until all communities were provided with electricity.

"This criminal behaviour serves to give more weight to the ever-growing calling for the IFP to take over government and provide leadership and answers to the plight of the majority," eThekwini IFP spokesman Joshua Mazibuko said yesterday.

He also vowed that when the IFP took over it would be "tough" on crime.

"These acts of vandalism are an indictment against the ANC government for it has failed for 14 years to banish poverty and hunger," said Mazibuko.

"The news of criminals threatening more sabotage of sub-stations should shame both the ANC and the involved criminals," Mazibuko said.

Mazibuko called on the community to expose the criminals. - Sapa
