Three Mozambican men were arrested after members of the Mpumalanga police highway patrol stopped their vehicle along the N4 highway and found them in possession of suspected stolen computers and spare parts.

KaNyamazane police spokesman Captain Phillip Fakude told Sowetan that the police were patrolling the N4 when they noticed a sedan with Mozambican registration numbers and pulled it off on Monday night.

"There were three males in the vehicle. And when we searched it, we found five computers and computer parts in the boot. The men could not explain who owned the items and could not produce receipts for the items," said Fakude.

"A case of possession of suspected stolen property was opened and the suspects will appear in court soon."

He said the men were aged between 29 and 38 years.

Fakude added that there were a number of cases were computers and other electrical appliances were stolen in large quantities in the Lowveld.

The highway patrol has so far also recovered about 60 stolen vehicles that were destined for Mozambique since June this year.
