The resignation of Seleteng Giant Killers Softball Club's coach, Sello "Zoro" Rampedi, has shaken lovers of the ball game in Limpopo.

Rampedi guided Killers to a historic 7-3 victory over arch-rivals Mahwelereng Spikes recently. The victory helped Killers clinch the Limpopo Softball Association's LimDev Super League title.

Rampedi joined Killers four seasons ago and in his first three seasons he failed to break Spikes' stranglehold until recently when he broke the hearts of Spikes' faithful.

"The alleged resignation is a surprise to the team, we were looking forward to having Zoro in our team for the future, and if the allegation is true, the management will consider it during our meeting on Sunday, and we will take it from there," Jimmy Ngobeni, Killers' spokesman, told Sowetan yesterday.

It is rumoured that Rampedi may join Spikes or Lebowakgomo Wild Beasts, but he has denied this.

"I left the club being a happy man after I built a formidable squad that has the potential of defending the championship next season. I will still be involved in softball as I am the provincial head coach," Rampedi said.
