After the lingering excitement of the last Big Brother Africa, viewers who begged for the return of the reality show will be pleased to know that their pleas have been heard an that it is all systems go.

The season for Big Brother Africa 3, which broadcasts on DStv, M-Net, starts on August 24.

Thanks to the shenanigans of South Africa's Lerato, Tanzania's Richard and Angola's Tatiana, the previous show was so spellbinding that one did not dare blink.

Before the show even got properly started Lerato and Zambia's Max made it clear they were a couple.

Initially gossiped about by the likes of Zimbabwe's Bertha, it was not long before everyone followed.

Ghana's Kweku and Namibia's Muriel followed.

But the same Bertha started gunning for Kweku.

And then there was Malawi's Code and Uganda's Maureen.

And, of course, how can one forget porn stars Richard and Tatiana.

Kenya's Jeff and Botswana's Justice left before the ink could dry on their BBA contracts.

And the halo shifted slightly from Nigeria's Ofuneka.

After an excellent track record in the house, her raging and starving betrayed her to the Nigerian community's disgust and shame.

Strangely enough Richard, portrayed as the underdog, walked away with the major prize.

By now his romps with the delectable Tatiana are somewhat of a distant dream as he lives it up with his older, opportunistic Canadian wife.

So, if you feel your adventures can make those of the former housemates pale by comparison, then BBA3 is your thing.

"Audiences clearly demonstrated their involvement with Big Brother Africa 2 by voting, texting the show's dedicated channel and downloading video clips," says Joseph Hundah, M-Net director of operations for sub-Saharan Africa.

As with season 1 and 2 the BBA 3 housemates are from 12 countries: Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The outrageous winner will take home a whopping $100000 bounty (about R775000).
