Mdantsane fighter Ludumo Galada has been given the opportunity to register his name in the list of South African fighters who are currently holding the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) belt.
This 24-year-old boxer, a former Olympian who rules the local featherweight division with an iron fist, will challenge Kenyan David Kiilu for the vacant WBF title on August 22.
Their fight, the first international bout for Galada since he turned professional in 2005 after the Olympic Games in Athens, will take place at home in East London's Orient Theatre.
It will be staged by that province's promoter S'Phatho Handi of Mamali Boxing Promotions.
Handi also manages the fruitful career of Galada, the current SA champion, who is yet to taste defeat after 11 wins in as many fights.
Kiilu, 35, a left-handed fighter from the central Africa who is known as "Silent Danger", is the former WBF Intercontinental super featherweight champion.
Kiilu's fight record reads 28 wins (15 kos) and eight losses and two draws.
