It was with profound sadness that I learnt of the death of Chrysostom Bobby Litchfield (Mthembu).

"Ta Bobby," as we fondly referred to him, collapsed and died on his way to buying his newspapers on Sunday morning.

He died of a heart attack aged 59 years.

Many who knew Bob will attest that he was a man with a mind of his own. He had this knack of sticking to his guns, no matter the weather.

In his quest to become a professional he enrolled with Unisa to study for a law degree. Sadly, he never completed his degree.

And when his coffin is lowered into the grave tomorrow at the Roodepoort Cemetery, our tears will be going to his wife Busi, son Sfiso, daughter and the entire Mthembu clan.
