A conflict over the use of the Marapyane-Pretoria road has set three Pretoria taxi associations on a collision course.

Until recently the conflict over the route was between Marapyane Taxi Association and Pretoria's Central Top 11.

But last week Simunye, a taxi association from Mabopane, north of Pretoria, entered the fray.

Moses Matseke, spokesman for Central Top 11, claims the Gauteng public transport registrar has allowed Simunye to operate on the road without valid permits.

"Simunye operates on eight routes and competes with us on our only route despite not having permits to do so," he said.
