Patience does pay dividends. Orlando Pirates had approximately seven years without hoisting a trophy, and their cupboard cupboard was barren, so what a solace over the weekend to win the annual Telkom Charity Cup.

They achieved this by beating my team (Kaizer Chiefs), deservedly so. Congrats!

We Khosi loyalists must concede that it wasn't our day to win, ironically because of a host of chances that went begging.

The man in the middle on the day wasn't up to the task also. I can't fathom how he could not award Chiefs a blatant penalty.

Notwithstanding, we are bracing for a mouthwatering campaign ahead, provided teams such as Pirates rise from the ashes and meet the expectations of their multitude of fans.
