The Local Organising Committee is on record as saying that more than 500000 tourists are expected to visit South Africa for the World Cup.
This has prompted the department to embark on the training for its employees.
The department is training its interpreters in various languages like French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Ten court interpreters from various justice offices recently attended a six-week French language course at Kono Segole.
