Three hundred rugby players from different schools will benefit from a coaching clinic conducted by the Springboks in Dobsonville today at 2pm.

Members of the Argentinian and South African rugby legends associations will also be part of the coaching clinic.

The event is hosted by the Soweto Rugby Club, South African Rugby Union and Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU).

All the kids who will take part in the coaching clinic are campaigning in the GLRU development league.

Luvuyo Matsha, project manager, said the purpose of the clinic is to give the kids an opportunity to learn and interact with the great rugby players.

He said the event forms part of the preparations for the Nelson Mandela Tribute Test at Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday between the Boks and Argentina at 3pm.

Muzi Masina, Soweto's senior head coach, believes the coaching clinics will make a huge difference to the kids in terms of development.

"Surely, the kids will be more motivated after rubbing shoulders with their heroes and role models.

"On behalf of the club, we humbly thank Springboks coach Peter de Villiers for accepting the invitation to attend the coaching clinic in Soweto," said an excited Masina.

All participants will be given tickets to witness the Boks and Pumas in action on Saturday and GLRU will provide transport to the stadium.

"I have always maintained that for rugby to grow, the Springboks need to become the team of the people," said de Villiers.
