A Limpopo woman and her two daughters will appear in the Sekhukhune magistrate's court today on a murder charge after they allegedly beat the woman's husband to death.

The incident happened at Tshehlwaneng village early last week when the woman allegedly ganged up with her daughters and attacked the man.

The couple had apparently been experiencing serious marital problems prior to the incident.

The 47-year-old woman and her daughters, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on Friday and charged with murder following the discovery of the man's body, which was in an advanced state of decomposition.

According to police spokesman Superintendent Mohale Ramatseba, the woman and her daughters allegedly attacked the man with sticks early last week and left him for dead.

"We are still investigating the matter to find out exactly when the man died and how it took place," Ramatseba said.

He said preliminary investigations had revealed that the couple had been experiencing marital problems.

"No matter the circumstances, we cannot condone a situation where people take the law into their own hands and take someone's life.

"Domestic violence cannot be tolerated," said Ramatseba.

Sources in the area claimed yesterday that the man was abusive to his wife.

The woman had also allegedly obtained a court order against him.

About four months ago the woman allegedly poured boiling water mixed with cooking oil over the man to protest against his abusive nature.
