Mahwereleng Spikes Softball Club honoured their players and supporters during an end-of-season function held at Mokopane golf club on Saturday.

Mahwereleng Spikes Softball Club honoured their players and supporters during an end-of-season function held at Mokopane golf club on Saturday.

The players and officials visited young patients at both Voortrekker and Mokopane hospitals during the day as part of their social responsibility programme.

"We resolved to honour our players following their splendid performance displayed throughout the season despite being defeated in the last match by the Limpopo Softball Association (LSA) Super League's champions Seleteng Giant Killers." Boet Seroka, Spikes' chairman, told Sowetan yesterday.

Thabang Letsoalo went home with the players' player of the season award, while the best batter award went to Thabo Tawane and Nakedi Raphalo was voted the best player.

Thabo "TM" Mulaudzi, Derrick Leopeng and Maki "Kintas" Mutavhatsindi were awarded for their different roles in the junior national teams.

Bricks Ledwaba and Surprise Ngobeni went home with the best supporters' awards. - Matome Lebea
