Leadership a daunting task, says apostle

Dan Fuphe

Apostle Isaac Sithole, president and founder of the Oasis of Life Family Church, yesterday told the newly elected executive mayor of Ekurhuleni Lentheng Mekgwe, that leadership was a daunting occupation.

He said the position came with tons of responsibility that could easily weigh heavily on a person.

Sithole said that with God on the mayor's side the daunting responsibility could be made lighter and even turn into boundless blessings.

Mekgwe is the first female mayor of the ANC-led Ekurhuleni metropolitan municipality.

She took over from Duma Nkosi, who resigned last month.

Mekgwe was welcomed when she stepped forward to be blessed by Sithole and several other church leaders.

Praying for her leadership to be guided by God, Sithole warned Mekgwe that her sudden elevation to such a high position would not necessarily be acceptable to all the people of Ekurhuleni.
