Selecting a team that will face Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Charity Cup appears to be a king-size problem for Mamelodi Sundowns, who meet Amakhosi at Mmabatho tomorrow at noon.

Even a staff member admitted that they did not know who to field because they have assembled one of the biggest squads in the Absa Premiership.

The Brazilians beat Chiefs in their last game of the season and they are upbeat and determined to do the same again.

Sundowns have won this event in three consecutive years - from 2004 to 2006 - but could not defend it last season when Bloemfontein Celtic won it, because of a Confederation Cup fixture mix-up.

Now they are back and ready to carry on where they left off at the expense of Chiefs.

Sundowns manager Harris "TV4" Choeu said though they have a huge squad they will be able to manage it.

"We hope the players we've acquired for the new season will adjust quickly and we'll see how they fare in this season's opener."

Choeu added that they were meeting a very competitive Amakhosi side, but was confident that players like Benedict Vilakazi, Derrick Spencer, Koketso Mmotong and Josta Dladla would do the job for them.

Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral, who left for Germany to attend a coaching conference, will be back in time for this crunch fixture.

His assistant Fani Madida said their plans were disrupted by a number of injuries.

"The Vodacom Challenge took a lot out of our players but since this tournament is for the needy, we're going out there to fight and to win it," he said.

Chiefs have also reinforced their squad with good and exciting players.
