Muvhuso "Hands of Thunder" Nedzanani has confirmed speaking to Eastern Cape boxing promoter Mzimase Mnguni about joining Eyethu Promotions but said nothing had been finalised yet.

"We had fruitful discussions", said the Limpopo fighter who is looking for a new promoter since his marriage with Tshiawelo Boxing Promotions (TBP) is on the rocks.

"My contract with them ends in October. I will not do anything until it expires. The truth is I am on the way out. I do not regret working with them, especially when Hendrik Nengekhulu was still alive.

"Promoting boxing was a hobby for him. He had his own money but things have changed since he died. The other people rely on sponsorships to promote and if that does not come forth it means no action for me."

Nedzanani, who revealed that in one year he had four fights, two SA title defences and two WBF junior flyweight title defences with TBP, was supposed to fight for the WBF junior bantamweight title tonight.

But that fight, which was to be broadcast live on Blow by Blow at 9pm, is off because TBP bosses could not get financial support.

Attempts to get a reaction from TBP boss Junior Ramovha drew a blank.

The cancellation of the fight irked Nedzanani who said he had been preparing for it since January. Could he be lost to Eastern Cape province?

"Eastern Cape is here in South Africa. I have followers there," said the former SA and WBF undefeated junior flyweight champion from Thohoyandou in his parting shot.
