Pensioners, declared heritage sites and owners of vacant land where municipal services have not taken place are among Johannesburg residents that could receive a rates rebate if they apply on or before the end of next month.

The City of Johannesburg said yesterday that pensioners who own and occupy the property and whose gross monthly income is below R5 000 including a government grant must apply.

Pensioners whose gross monthly income is higher than R5 000 but less than R9 000 must also apply. These groupings are eligible for up to 100 percent of rebates on their rates. - Sowetan Reporter
