A 24-year-old police officer was granted R3000 bail when he appeared in court yesterday after an accident in which four people were killed in Malmesbury, Western Cape, police said.

A 24-year-old police officer was granted R3000 bail when he appeared in court yesterday after an accident in which four people were killed in Malmesbury, Western Cape, police said.

Arno Welkom had his case postponed to November 7 by the Malmesbury magistrate's court.

He was arrested at the scene of an accident on Friday and charged with culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving, and for drunken driving. - Sapa
