Controversial businessman Prosper Mkwaiwa (Kelly Khumalo's ex-fiance) is suing Nedbank in Pretoria for R10 million for alleged assault.
Mkwaiwa says he was assaulted by a bank manager and two security guards and that the incident took place at the bank's branch on the corner of Church and Andries streets.
The letter from Mkwaiwa's lawyers to the bank's manager, Johan Ellis, reads in part:
"We have been instructed to demand from Nedbank, Ms Theresa Kgafela, the security company and two security officials, an amount of R10000000 ... Should we not receive payment or an undertaking to settle this matter by close of business on 23 July 2008, we hold instructions to serve a summons ..."
Mkwaiwa's lawyer, Zola Majavu, says: "If we do not get a response by Monday (today) we will issue a summons."
