Candidates who wrote the May-June matric rewrite examinations in Gauteng will get their results tomorrow.

The national exams were written between May 5 and June 20. The results will be released individually by provinces. National education spokesman Lunga Ngqengelele said at least 200000 pupils wrote the exams across the country.

Gauteng department of education's director of communication Nanagolo Leopeng said the results for the 96000 candidates that wrote the exams will be available tomorrow.

She said: "Candidates will be able obtain their statements of symbols from the centres where they were registered. The only exceptions are candidates who wrote at the Pretoria Showground. No results will be given by phone."

Limpopo education spokesman Ndo Mangala said: "Results will be released from July 29 but not all will be available. Pupils are encouraged to go and check their results where they wrote their exams."

He said the full results would be available by August 2.

Unsuccessful candidates can register for next year's May-June rewrites until September 30.
