For the first time in the 59-year history of Mpumalanga's Lowveld Show the Zion Christian Church will be part of the event.

The ZCC brass band will perform on July 30 as part of the show's official opening ceremony.

The show organisers say they expect that many local ZCC members will be at the venue to await the arrival of the renowned marching band.

Show organiser Hannes de Kock says: "Solly Moholo, who is popular among ZCC members and other fans, will appear later in the evening."

But the day is not reserved for members of the ZCC church only.

"The general public is invited to join in the festivities and to view the many stalls at the show," he says.

De Kock says they invited the church because they wanted to cater for the cultural diversity of the people of Mpumalanga.

This year's show takes place from July 30 to August 2.
