Internationally acclaimed philosopher and author Swami Parthasarathy, popularly known as "Swamiji", arrives in SA this weekend with his daughter Sunandaji.

He is here to promote his latest book, The Fall of the Human Intellect.

The book explains the need to develop our capacity to think for ourselves.

It explains in depth the difference between intelligence gained from educational institutions and the intellect, which enables one to cope with the challenges of the world.

Parthasarathy is the founder of the Vedanta Academy, which has been conferred the coveted status of a Scientific and Research Organisation by the government of India.

Parthasarathy's tour commences in Johannesburg, then proceeds to Cape Town and then Durban.

His visit to Durban is from August 8 to 11.
