Malawi continue fine form

Malawi continued with their fine form in the Cosafa Senior Challenge when they pipped Comores 1-0 in a Group B match at Lilian Ngoyi Stadium in Secunda, Mpumalanga, yesterday.

The goal came in the second half from Fischer Kondowe, who recently signed for Bloemfontein Celtic from the recently relegated Black Leopards.

Kondowe told Sowetan before the tournament that he was determined to help his country win the showpiece.

Malawi opened their campaign in the event on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Lesotho, who were due to meet Namibia last night.

Namibia walloped Comores 3-0 in their opener on Sunday.

Swaziland and Seychelles played to a 1-1 draw and Madagascar also drew 1-all against Mauritius in Group A matches played at Emalahleni Puma Stadium in Witbank on Monday.

Seychelles ran amok when they clobbered Mauritius 7-0 and Swaziland drew 1-all against Madagascar in their opening matches in Saturday.

Today's fixtures:

Puma Stadium: Madagascar v Mauritius (3pm), Swaziland v Seychelles (5.30pm).
