PAC struggle veteran Moses Mokotong is one of South Africa's unsung heroes.

His death this week at 70 closes a chapter in the life of a man who dedicated his life to freeing all of us.

Bra Moss, as he was affectionately known, was part of the early batch of PAC activists sent to Robben Island in the early 1960s. He served a five-year term for furthering the aims of the then banned PAC.

He was born in Devon in Mpumalanga and educated at Munsieville High in Krugersdorp.

At the time of his death Mokotong was secretary of the West Rand Apla veterans, a movement he served diligently.

Mokotong is survived by his wife and five children - four daughters and a son. He will be buried on Sunday at the local cemetery in Bekkersdal. The service will be held at Paul Nel Hall in Bekkersdal from 7am.
