Three provinces will play their championships tomorrow to decide their representatives for the national final of the Milo Champions Cup.
In Free State 10 schools will battle it out at Thaba Nchu grounds for a place in the national championships at Marks Park in Johannesburg from August 15 to 18.
JJ Kubheka are hot favourites based on the fact that they represented the province nationally on numerous occasions.
Mofulatshepe from Xhariep district are also contenders. Other schools that will fight for the provincial title are Reiketsedite, Tshumarelo, Tshwaganang, Botjhabelo, Tlotliso and Reikemiseditse.
"We are calling on all the schools to bring correct documentation to avoid any situation that will involve protests as they will impact negatively on the players," Mangaka Mopeli, Free State's provincial coordinator, said.
Okiep sports ground will be the battle field for eight Northern Cape schools, with the hosts Okiep primary and Letshego favourites to clinch the provincial trophy.
The contest will also include Alpha, Karee, Buffelsrivier, Mampestad, HTT Bidi and Simbruner.
In Gauteng 16 schools will vie for two provincial positions at Marks Park.
The schools include provincial favourites Sun Valley and Mthembeka. Other schools are Atlegang, Weltevreden Park, Khulani, Chokoe, Sithokomele and Kanana.
At the time of going to press the other eight schools were still busy completing their district championships knockout matches .
"We are impressed with the running of the competition from the district level as they went well, without protests. This competition's unique first prize is a trip to Barcelona (Spain) in September," Themba Tshabalala, competition director, told Sowetan yesterday.
